Hot Topic Haul - September 2016

Happy belated Batman Day!

On Batman Day this year, Saturday, September 17, I wore one of my favorite Batman tank tops, grabbed brunch and coffee, dropped by our favorite comic book store here in Austin (Austin Books and Comics), then hung out with our friends at their pool in one of my Batman bathing suits.

Yes, we did grab a few goodies at the comic book store. It just felt right given what day it was. We bought the latest issue of Descender, some Batman sticky notes (because why not), and a glow-in-the-dark Harley Quinn Funko Pop that I grabbed on a whim because I recently took some inventory and realized I did not have this one. It literally looks exactly the same as another Pop I already own. Hah. I'm a sucker. I admit it.

Unrelated (maybe), right before Batman Day, I placed an order on Hot Topic. When is Hot Topic going to pay me for a sponsored post?... Who am I kidding? At this rate, they really don't have to.

It's a VERY small haul this time, but wanted to make sure I shared. Micks is an enabler and linked me to the Zebra and Bullseye Batman Funko Pop 2-Pack, a Hot Topic exclusive. They restocked relatively recently so he wanted to make sure I hopped on it. I know I have a bajillion of these, but their cuteness never seems to get old.

I was trying to hit a promo code threshold so I threw in this Deathly Hallows necklace! I love nerdy yet subtle jewelry. The promo code helped me save on shipping and this necklace so I really only paid the value of the Pops! WHOO FOR SAVING MONEY EVEN THOUGH I'M WASTING MONEY ON TOYS THAT DON'T DO ANYTHING! Oh, the irony.

Until my next impulse buy (read: I'll probably be back very soon with a new blog post)! If I'm being honest, I bought some Funko Pops many, many months ago that I expect will arrive next month so you can definitely at least expect that post. ðŸ˜‰

I should continue adding a section for where to buy the stuff I feature in my blog posts. I keep forgetting especially when some items are difficult to find, but I got you this time!

Funko Pop Collection (Part 1)

I've been meaning to showcase my Funko Pop collection for quite a while, but I definitely need to do it in sections because the collection keeps growing and I still have a bunch that I've preordered and am waiting for in the mail. It's all very overwhelming and ridiculous.

Since I noticed my Funko Pop collection in Austin has outgrown my collection back home in San Jose, it made me realize the stagnant collection in San Jose is a great place to start to show you what I've got in the Pop arsenal. The San Jose collection has just been chillin', collecting dust since I moved to Austin... because these figures literally don't do anything. Truth from a collector of useless things.

As always, apologies for my lack of photography skills. I was too lazy to take them out of their boxes mostly because there were too many of them. Hehe. For future Funko posts, I'll focus on smaller batches so I can take better pictures (which shouldn't be hard when you look at these ðŸ˜‚).

For this first group of Pops, I'll include the Funko Pop description, where I acquired it (if I remember), and hopefully a link to where to buy it if they're still available (otherwise I'll likely link to eBay). Disclaimer, I can't remember where I bought a lot of these since these were acquired anywhere from 3-7 years ago.

Agh. That was only 24, but that was already so overwhelming to archive/document. I think my Austin collection may be twice as large so going to work in those smaller batches like I mentioned earlier. I'll figure out how to break them up so we can focus on quality instead of quantity in these Funko Pop posts.

In the mean time, let me know if you have any favorites from above. My favorite (out of my entire collection) is the metallic blue Batman in the plastic dome because it was my first ever Funko Pop ðŸ˜€. Funko Pops originally go for anywhere between $8-15, but a lot of mine have increased in value. To keep track of my collection, I use Pop Price Guide. I highly recommend it if you're also a collector and trying to keep track of how many you have, which ones you have, and how much your entire collection is worth!

Happy Labor Day weekend, everyone! Hope yours has been fun yet relaxing!
